No communication, no human race.

    When I first saw this question, I felt it must be interesting. A world without communication, how would it looks like? Well when I was a little boy, I always have this kind of  whimsical idea💡 . To figure out this question, we need to know what is communication.
    What is communication? "Communication is simply the act of transferring information from one place, person or group to another," said Wikipedia. Alright, here we know that communication is you put something from somewhere (someone) to another place (or another one), but what is information? How should we define it?
    Information is processed, organized and structured data.  Wikipedia said. Here we have a problem again, what are data? Data are a set of values of qualitative or qualitative variables about one or more persons or objects. This is too complex, I have a simple anwser: data are a series of sign in particular order. It's just because it have a qualitative order, so it can declare something qualitative. And with this definition, I want to ask you a question,"is DNA in clude information?" I think there is not doubt that it has. It includes genetic information. That's why I said," No communication, no human race." Not only no human race, but also no life.
    Talk about oral communication, in the upper picture, this is a kind of alien called "three-body human". This kind of alien is come from the sci-fic novel called the three-body problem. They don't have oral communication, because they have a awesome ability--they can directly read others mind. So, I'm pretty so that SMCR model is not suitable for them and without the process of encode and decode, they don't know what is lie and how to lie. But in this case, there is no communication? Definitely yes! They receiver of information directly read the sender's mind. So the communication model can be discribed as RCS (reader, channel and sender) Interesting, right?
    We said, the world consists by matter and energy. And ordered matter contains information. When an atom meet another atom, the communication between them is happened.
    At they end, I highly recomand you read the book the three-body problem, this is an excellent sic-fi novel from China, and from this book you can see the concept of Chinese when we facing the crysis of invading of aliens.

    But I do believe that you went too deep into the clarification of the book example, not the theme of the blog post itself - so the post got a tiny bit clustered. Waiting for some more from you ;)

    I particularly agree with you. The future world of human civilization constructed by "Three-Body", the three-body civilization, the singer civilization, and so on, are completely beyond the space setting of Star Wars and the Marvel Universe, leaving countless rooms for further creation of stories. Not to mention, there are also a lot of "Guzheng Project" plots that can support a half-movie on their own.

    The Three Bodies is a great science fiction novel, I was impressed with the way they communicate, the book describes how lower civilizations use their intelligence to fight off the invasion of higher civilizations, the content is very shocking, I recommend you try it.

    I loved the way you approached the subject, especially the last paragraph and the examples: DNA and aliens.
    But I see that you focused a lot on communication and definitions and did not directly address the main idea which is: What would the world look like without communication?
