GETTING STARTED WITH THE WEEKLY BLOG ON MODERN MEDIA SYSTEM COURSE

Welcome to the weekly blog on the course "Modern Media System" of the English for the masters students of Global Journalism program of the Mass Communication Department of RUDN University of Russia. The goal of the course is to help the students to form a systematic approach to the modern Mass Media processes and their interaction with today’s cultural space and politic economic condition.

In this weekly blog, student are expected to write a 500 words blog post on the topic and question relating to key topics and themes addressed in the module which will be given by the lecturer at the end of the lesson or each unit. Remember that critical thinking, academic research, writing and referencing skills will be assessed.

To achieve a maximum point and grade at the end of the module, you are required to do the following;

  • Post your 250-300 words article(should be submitted 24 hours before the next class).
  • Write your name as I did in the beginning of the post.
  • Use a creative headline for your post.
  • Compliment your article with a befitting picture.
  • Send the link of of your post to me and your course-mates through the course channel on MS Teams or your WhatsApp group immediately it is posted(that is at least by 24 hours before the next class).
  • You will must read what your other group-mates have posted and respond to at least two with a thorough, well-articulated response that pushes the conversation further. Go beyond simple agreement/disagreement. Regular participation on the course blog can raise your grade to one letter grade (example B to a B+).
