I know that China always be critisized as "a country we no freedom". Here I want to say, "you can never wake up someone who pretend to sleep."
Maybe you have heard that, in China, all media are belong to goverment. This is 50% right. Yes indeed, maybe it sounds so terrible that "everything is belongs to government". But we should know that, in a socialism country, people are the true owner of everything.
From this example, we can see that, Halin and Mancini models are not very suitable for Chinese media history. And more important is, when the time went to the new era, digital era, the new born Chinese private media are increase so fast. Just like Tik Tok, Weibo, WeChat, Bilibili and so on. They are playing a more important role in the market of media. Right now, 60% of media are belong to country and 40% of them are private. This new balance is working well in China rigth now. It can make sure that the message and imformation are really represent people and it won't be control by the foreign power.
Talk about the Russia-Ukraine war recent, in foreign media (foreign to China), a lot of people are support Ukraine. But in China this kind of voice are 50/50, but more people are feel pityful with Ukraine, they said, Ukraine was a powerful country even have nuclear bomb, but nowadays it has become the poorest country in Europ.
What do you think about the forty right, which is used to name the rigth of media in USA. They think media power is the fourth power independent of legislative power, executive power and judicial power. To my opining, this kind of idea is put the media power into a wrond place. I think the essence of media is to noting, to informing. And leave your comment please, I like to read thme.

  1. I think information and the media are very powerful. Their function is not only to inform and educate, but they also have the ability to entertain, monitor power groups, interpret data and persuade people. It's not just about the media publishing something true or not, but they also have the power to withhold information or choose the place and time to make certain information public, for the benefit or harm of certain interests. As such, the media has a strong power to persuade people and shape lives, and this could be used in a positive or very negative way. That is why it can be considered a fourth power, and in some countries, religion plays an important role as well. (Bernarda Vasquez)

  3. I strongly agree with you. China has the most advanced system in the world - socialism. No matter how much the West discredits our system. Our goal is always common prosperity. This people-oriented system touches the interests of the Western oligarchs, so they try to smear socialism in any way they can. 试想将来的环球,必将是赤旗的世界。

  4. I think the two models are adaptable in China, but they are not 100% correct. China has a saying that it should extract its essence and remove its dross. In China, these two models have certain Chinese characteristics.----------Zhang Jiahui(Lucas)

  5. Yes, more records and information from the media have aroused people's thinking. Chinese media has its own characteristics and is a "golden mean". I think this is the real freedom.——He YiPeng(Bruce)
